Did you know that the most anticipated blockbusters of 2020 are based on female leads, and … wait for it … they’re also directed by women? That’s right! This year, women will play significant roles both behind and in front of the big screen. What are some of these movies? Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, and Birds of Prey—three movies that will surely make this year an epic year for women in Hollywood.

Nothing matches the excitement of watching hairline finishes, near-perfect performances, and national pride in the biggest sporting event in the world. With more than 200 countries competing, and with new sports like skateboarding, surfing, and karate added to the mix, the 2020 Summer Olympics are sure to thrill sports fans the world over!

If anything demonstrated the power of youth activism last year, it was the Global Climate Strike and the influence of young activist Greta Thunberg. Youth around the world will once again participate in the annual march, forcing local and national governments to sit up and listen.

4. Elections 2020

In 2020, presidential elections will take place in the United States and in other countries around the world as well. Elections are a great time to talk about the democratic process, candidates, leadership, voting, and much more while it’s all happening.

5. Space, Space, And More Space!

For every kid interested in space, science, astronauts, rockets, and everything in between, 2020 is going to be an incredible year. Why? NASA has an awesome out-of-this-world year of space exploration and innovation planned! From Mars explorations to satellite launches, there’s no better time than now to introduce space news to your little space cadets!
