Have you ever heard of the term, “equal pay for equal work”? It means that if you’re doing the exact same thing as someone else, both of you should get paid the same amount of money. Simple idea, right? But the idea of equal pay for equal work really isn’t that simple. Do you pay two people the same amount of money for doing the same job even if one does the job better? How about someone who has been doing the job for much longer? Or how about someone who takes less time to complete the job? All of these questions actually make the idea of equal pay for equal work quite complicated.

Recently two prominent people in the world of tennis made comments about female versus male tennis players. That comment sparked a public debate about whether players should be paid the same.
